Void Management
Voids and other small project works require a different approach to scheduling than responsive repairs.
Where
responsive repairs needs a plan that is fluid and can react to
the emerging day, project work benefits from more structured
planning and resource management.
OPTI-TIME’s Project Module supports the aggregation of work into work packages. A work package is any combination of work that can be undertaken by a single resource continuously; this could be the entire project, half the carpentry work, with another work package being created for a second operative, or a single SOR item.
The resulting work packages for all open projects are then represented on a ‘rough cut’ planning board, highlighting potential issues such as late completions or resource bottlenecks. What-if scenarios can be evaluated on the planning board before a firm plan is ‘released’ in to the live diaries.
The OPTI-TIME projects module was designed through a customer focus group, key design criteria included the ability to see all resources (across all teams) in one place, the need for the Projects Module to support multi-contract working, to support both dedicated and mixed resource pools and to be equally designed for void and programmed capital work.
